Search woodland mansion chests that use the random loot table for Vex. Each eligible chest has a 50% chance to contain one template in Java 1.21 and Bedrock 1.21.0; fixed-loot chests in the allium, sapling farm, tree-chopping, and fake End portal rooms are excluded.

How to Duplicate the Vex Armor Trim
Keep a spare before you start smithing. Combine one Vex armor trim smithing template, one Cobblestone, and seven diamonds at a crafting table to make two templates.
Place the template in the top-middle slot and the duplication material in the center. Fill the remaining seven slots with diamonds. Applying a trim at a smithing table consumes one template; the pattern changes appearance, not armor protection.
